Four dead, nine injured in Georgia school shooting

A 14-year-old student on Wednesday opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, killing two students and two teachers.
The shooting also left nine others injured.
Authorities have identified the shooter as Colt Gray, a pupil at Apalachee High School.
The victims included two 14-year-olds, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, as well as teachers Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimie.
In a press conference, Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Chris Hosey, announced that Gray will face murder charges.
“Those who have lost their lives are heroes in my book,” Mr Hosey remarked. “Those currently recovering in the hospital are heroes in my book.”
A joint statement from the FBI’s Atlanta office and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office noted that Gray and his father had been interviewed in May 2023 concerning threats to commit a school shooting.
