Mr Jibbo promised to render support and cooperation to the corps.

• September 25, 2024

The Federal Road Safety Corps has initiated a partnership with the Zamfara Fire Service to train its personnel to tackle fire emergencies on highways.

The FRSC sector commander, Umar Massaudu, solicited the partnership during a courtesy visit to the fire service’s director, Abdullahi Jibbo, in Gusau on Wednesday.

Mr Massaudu said that the main purpose of his visit was to enter into a partnership with the state fire service to train and retrain  FRSC personnel on fire fighting for effective rescue of accident victims.

He said that sometimes road crashes involved fire outbreaks. Therefore, the skills to operate firefighting tools were critical to saving lives and properties.

The sector commander also appealed to the state fire service to assist the command with fire extinguishers and other firefighting tools.

Mr Jibbo promised to render support and cooperation to the corps.

“We are very ready to provide you with the necessary fire preventive tools and mechanisms. When FRSC personnel can effectively fight incidents of fire outbreaks during accidents, more lives and property will be saved,” Mr Jibbo said.
