MTN has deleted a tweet in which it admitted a breakdown in power supply after facing criticism and allegations of collusion in Lekki massacre Tuesday night. The network did not explain why it took down the tweet, which was initially held in this link.

Nigeria’s largest service provider had previously apologised for its role in a series of events that transpired while the massacre was underway.

Witnesses were deprived of a chance to send out crucial information from the scene of the incident because MTN network was shut off.

But after facing criticism, including a contradictory position of a man who claimed to be one of its engineers, MTN deleted the tweet without explanation. A spokesman for the network did not immediately answer a request seeking comments about the deletion.
