Ondo NSCDC deploys 1,800 operatives ahead of Yuletide

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command,
has deployed about 1,800 personnel to ensure adequate security across the state during the yuletide period.
The NSCDC state Commandant, Oluyemi Ibiloye, made this known in a statement to journalists on Wednesday in Akure.
According to Mr Ibiloye, the deployment is contained in the operational order sent to heads of formations.
He explained that the order was aimed at detecting and preventing crime, and to maintain peace during, and after the festive period across the state.
He said, “The objective of the operational order is to provide security coverage and maintain peace, while the personnel will be deployed to strategic locations, flashpoints, and areas of high crime incidence. Security coverage will be provided for sensitive areas and soft targets such as religious centres, recreational centres, malls, motor parks, public and government infrastructures, and other public gathering spaces. The deployments were drawn from tactical teams of various departments and units such as operations department, Intelligence & Investigation Department, Counter Terrorism Unit, Antivandal Team, Special Female Squad (SFS), Mining & Agro Rangers, Cracked Armed Squad team, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear & Explosives (CBRNE) Unit, Quick Response Squad among others will collaborate with other sister agencies to maintain peace and order.’’
The commandant, therefore, charged the personnel to maintain a high level of professionalism and work harmoniously with other security outfits.
He urged the residents, and those visiting the state, to embrace peace and celebrate moderately during the yuletide and New Year seasons.
“Criminal elements are warned to stay away from the state or face the full wrath of the law,” Mr Ibiloye said.
