Euro Finals: Queen Elizabeth sends goodwill message to Three Lions

Queen Elizabeth of England Saturday sent a felicitation to the England male national football team as they prepare to face Italy at the finals of the European Championship at Wembley on Sunday.
England, who last won a major competition 55 years ago, defeated Denmark in the semi-finals to qualify for the finals in the ongoing European Championships.
In a message shared on The Royal Family official Twitter handle on Saturday, the queen wished the Three Lions success in their game against Italy on Sunday with the hope that the 55-year old jinx will be broken.
“55 years ago I was fortunate to present the World Cup to Bobby Moore and saw what it meant to the players, management and support staff to reach and win the final of a major international football tournament,” she said.
“I want to send my congratulations and that of my family to you all on reaching the final of the European Championships, and send my good wishes for tomorrow with the hope that history will record not only your success but also the spirit, commitment and pride with which you have conducted yourselves,” the queen added.
England under Gareth Southgate has put up brilliant performance in the competition, earning themselves a final berth at the Euros.
