U.S. warns citizens against increased attack threats across Middle East

The United States has warned its citizens across the Middle East to exercise caution amid threats linked to Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi group and alleged Iranian efforts to target US government officials in the region.
The U.S. Mission to the United Arab Emirates issued the security alert on Saturday, advising Americans to prepare for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and other travel disruptions.
“Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance due to the increased threat of armed attacks by Iranian-supported Houthis and Iranian efforts to target U.S. government officials in the region,” the mission said.
The warning follows previous US alerts over Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, including civilian airports and critical infrastructure, which Washington said resulted in casualties and significant travel disruptions.
U.S. authorities have also warned that escalating regional hostilities could expose American interests overseas, including businesses and other institutions, to potential attacks attacks by Iran and groups aligned with Tehran.
