Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday ‘Igboho’ Adeyemo has arrived at the Cour De’appal De Cotonou in the Benin Republic to face charges preferred against him.

The Beninese authorities have kept Mr Igboho in their custody following his arrest at Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou on his way to travel to Germany with his wife.

Mr Igboho, alongside his Germany-based wife, Ropo Adeyemo, was arrested by the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).

On Thursday, after a court hearing in the small West African country, the court ruled that Mrs Adeyemo, the agitator’s wife, should be released.

Also present in court to support Mr Igboho are his wife and Yoruba monarchs based in the Benin Republic and some Yoruba Nation agitators.

Mr Igboho was declared wanted by the State Security Service after the SSS operatives violently raided his Ibadan residence, killing two of his relatives.
