Lagos council upgrades 168 roads

The Eredo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State has upgraded 168 roads and built eight solar-powered boreholes across communities.
The chairman, Monsuru Akinloye, gave the figures during an interview at Eredo-Epe.
He said that the projects were aimed at improving the living standards of the residents.
He listed communities which benefited from the projects to include Odo-Egiri, Ilara, Ibonwon, Odogbawojo, Imokun and Odomola.
“This upgrading will ease vehicular movement and open up rural areas for economic growth,” he said.
According to him, the council constructed four major roads at Adebowale, Odogbawojo, Imokun and Odo-Egiri.
He described the roads as strategic links to inner communities.
Mr Akinloye said that solar-powered boreholes were dug at strategic areas for clean water supply.
According to the chairman, the boreholes were constructed at Ibonwon Market, Ilara Town Hall, Odo-Egiri, Odogbawojo Community Centre, Eredo Secretariat, Imokun, Oke-Ako, and Mojoda.
He said that the council also constructed 21 blocks of classrooms across primary schools within the council area, including UPE Primary School, AUD Primary School and Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School.
“We are working round the clock to ensure that every community in Eredo feels good governance,” he said.
The chairman said that the projects were executed with support from the Lagos State Government.
Mr Akinloye called on the residents to continue supporting the council through prompt payment of taxes and levies, saying that internally generated revenue was crucial to project execution.
He gave the assurance that his administration would give more attention to youth empowerment, healthcare and environment management in 2026.
