The Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has rewarded 82 employees for their long-standing dedication and loyalty during its 2025 Long Service Award Ceremony.

The awardees, who had served the organisation for 15, 20, and 25 years, were presented with household items such as king-sized beds, wardrobes, dining sets, upholstery chairs, generators, and 32-inch television sets.

They also received cash rewards in appreciation of their years of service at the ceremony that took place at the firm’s headquarters in Okomu community, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State.

In his address, Managing Director of the company, Dr Graham Hefer, praised the employees for their steadfast commitment and their critical role in sustaining the company’s growth.

Mr Hefer said, “The staff who have been rewarded today have given back part of their contributions to this company. They have shown loyalty and commitment over the years, and we are privileged to have people who have worked with us for as long as 25 years. The company is happy to celebrate them, and we encourage others to emulate their example.’’

Reacting to the gesture, Chairman of the workers ‘union in the company, Ewansiha Clifford, applauded the management for recognising staff who served diligently, describing the gesture as an important morale booster.

“I want to thank the management for rewarding employees who have served the company meritoriously. To the awardees, I say congratulations. It is not an easy journey, but your patience has paid off.”

One of the 25-year award recipients, Joyce Eroje, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the company for acknowledging her long service.

Mrs Eroje said, “I received King and Queen-size beds, a wardrobe, and a set of living room chairs. I have looked forward to this day, and I am extremely grateful to the company and its management. Over the years, the company has trained and equipped us with skills that can help us run a company of our own. It has been 25 years of learning and growth.”

The long service award ceremony is part of Okomu’s longstanding tradition of recognising employees who exemplify commitment and align with the company’s vision and values.
