The Anambra State government has ordered the immediate closure of Great Mind Academy in Awka, citing an unfit and unhealthy learning environment.

The directive was issued by the Commissioner for Education, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, following an inspection of the school on Tuesday.

The school is located behind the old Government House, Awka.

Ms Chuma-Udeh said the school environment was unsuitable for teaching and learning, adding, “The state government will not allow children to study under such unsafe conditions.

“We have directed the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade to enforce the closure without delay.”
