Ondo inducts 109 new administrative officers into public service

The Ondo State government on Wednesday inducted 109 newly recruited administrative officers into the state public service.
The state head of service (HoS), Bayo Philip, at the State Public Service Training Institute in Ilara-Mokin, described the recruitment as unprecedented in the state’s history.
Mr Philip said the approval granted by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa came at a time when the service needed strengthening to improve efficiency and effective service delivery.
He urged the new officers to justify the opportunity by demonstrating commitment, discipline, and high ethical standards, noting that the administrative cadre carried significant responsibilities.
“You were not enrolled into this rank to become lazy officers; other cadres will look up to you for guidance, conduct, and character. You must be conscious of the expectations the system places on you,” he said.
Mr Philip said the induction was organised to expose the officers to the values, processes, and professional requirements needed to navigate their careers in the public service.
Also speaking, the chairman of the State Civil Service Commission and former head of service, Ajose Kudehinbu, congratulated the officers and urged them to make a positive impact in their various postings.
He said the exercise was aimed at familiarising them with the work environment and ensuring a smooth transition into the system.
Similarly, the chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries and permanent secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Segun Odusanya, commended the governor for approving the recruitment of a large number of administrative officers.
Mr Odusanya expressed optimism that the decision would significantly improve service delivery in the state.
