The organising committee of the ‘Summit of the Progressives’ has rescheduled its programme commemorating 10 years of the All Progressives Congress governance at the national level to January 27, 2026.

The chairman of the brand and media committee, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed the new date in a statement on Tuesday.

Mr Ahmad said that the summit, hitherto fixed for December, had to be rescheduled due to “prevailing circumstances”.

The new date, according to him, will allow for a more fitting and inclusive gathering of leaders, stakeholders and members of the broader progressive family.

The event is being organised by Progressives Forum, in conjunction with The Bola Tinubu Legacy Conference, The Progressives Rights Group and The Buhari New Media Centre.

President Bola Tinubu, one of the party’s co-founders and leaders, is expected to serve as the Special Guest of Honour, underscoring the significance of the moment in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

“Designed as a reflective and forward-looking platform, the summit will undertake a comprehensive review of the milestones, achievements, reforms and developmental strides recorded since APC assumed national leadership in 2015. It will also serve as a forum to articulate a renewed progressive vision for the years ahead,” the statement said.

Mr Ahmad stated that the summit would feature keynote addresses on the evolution and impacts of progressive governance across major sectors.

He said the event would also include sectoral panel discussions on economic transformation, national security, social investment, energy transition, infrastructure development, governance reforms, and political renewal.

He said that fireside chats with notable leaders within Nigeria’s progressive fold, spotlighting leadership journeys, defining decisions, policy philosophies and pivotal reflections that had shaped the movement would also be part of the programme.

Others, according to him, are legacy documentary presentations that capture APC’s rise, its signature policy interventions, and landmark governance moments since 2015.
