Lagos’ Command and Control Centre and the 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have strengthened a strategic partnership to enhance coordinated security and emergency response operations.

The collaboration was reinforced during a high-level meeting held at the 9 Brigade’s headquarters.

This was disclosed in a statement by Yemi Sule, spokesman for LSCCC, on Thursday.

The statement said that senior military officers and the management team of the LSCCC deliberated on operational synergy, intelligence sharing, rapid-response coordination, and improved communication frameworks.

The statement said both parties agreed to deepen operational engagement through structured communication channels, joint response protocols where necessary, and sustained collaboration in areas of mutual strategic interest.

It added that the engagement highlighted the shared commitment of the army and the Lagos government to safeguard lives, protect critical infrastructure and maintain peace and stability in Lagos.

The general manager of LSCCC, Femi Kennedy Giwa, said the engagement was aimed at sustaining a secure and resilient Lagos through stronger inter-agency collaboration.

Mr Giwa described the command and control centre as the state’s central emergency communication hub, operating the toll-free lines 767 and 112.

He noted that effective service delivery depends largely on strong partnerships with security agencies, including the army.

He said the collaboration would ensure swift and coordinated responses to emergencies across the state.

The commander of 9 Brigade, Ayokunle Owolabi, reaffirmed the brigade’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance public safety and strengthen the state’s security architecture.

Mr Owolabi commended the Lagos government for its investment in technology-driven emergency coordination and stressed the importance of seamless cooperation between military and civilian agencies.
