Turkish celebrities detained in Istanbul anti-drug operation
Several entertainment celebrities were among 17 suspects detained in Türkiye as part of an ongoing investigation into drug use offences, local media reported on Tuesday.
The 17 people were taken into custody in coordinated operations carried out by Istanbul’s anti-narcotics police, the report said.
Detentions were made after police raids on suspects’ residences.
The investigation has targeted 25 people on charges including drug use and facilitating the use of narcotic or stimulant substances, the Istanbul chief public prosecutor’s office said in a release on social platform X.
Authorities said the investigation into the suspects remains ongoing, with one of them found to be abroad.
