Alfred Alabo, the command’s spokesman, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

Mr Alabo said that some police detectives attached to Gindiri Division were attacked on Wednesday while trailing criminal elements in the Changal community of the area.

He further disclosed that the armed gang was led by a notorious suspect, Ibrahim Abdullahi, known for terrorising communities in Gindiri and environs.

“Our team engaged the armed criminals in a gun duel, and one of the suspects was neutralised.

“Exhibits recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle loaded with 16 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and a Redmi phone.
