Troops recover rifles, motorcycles in Delta operation
Troops of Brigade/Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during an operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Iliyasu Bawa-Rijau, spokesperson for the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, disclosed this in a statement in Asaba on Friday.
“The operation was conducted on June 4 2026, while acting on credible intelligence. The arms and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community,” he said.
He stated that the commander of the 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism.
Mr Bawa-Rijau said the commander charged them with sustaining the current operational tempo and maintaining relentless pressure on criminal elements.
“Therefore, he reiterated the formation’s unwavering commitment to denying criminals freedom of action in the area and warned that individuals and groups harbouring arms or engaging in criminal activities will face the full wrath of the law,” he said.
