In a statement on Saturday, the command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, said the motorcycle was recovered during a routine patrol on July 4.
“The successful clampdown on crimes against property took place on 4th July, 2026, at about 1200hrs, when Hafiz Ahmad ‘m’, 28 years old, of Karofin Madaki was intercepted by the police operatives attached to ‘E’ Division Yelwa around Yelwan Kagadama while riding an unregistered Jiacheng ladies motorcycle, black in colour, valued at ₦450, 000,” he said.
Mr Habib said the suspect confessed to stealing the motorcycle from Unguwar Kusu in the Yelwa area of Bauchi.
“A diligent investigation led operatives to the rightful owner, Mr Mohammed (surname withheld), 23 years old, residing at the Federal Low-Cost Housing Estate,” he said.
He added that the motorcycle was returned to its owner after the relevant ownership documents were presented.
