One thousand students of the Plateau Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, have been captured by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Mr Wash Pam, the System and Network Engineer of the institution, disclosed this on Thursday in Jos.

Mr Pam further disclosed that the captured students were currently awaiting disbursement from NELFUND. He explained that until now, the students of the institution were not enrolled at the commencement of the scheme two years ago.

“We have concluded the verification of students who applied for the first batch of the NELFUND scheme; we have forwarded the list for processing.

“We have done our part. All the students who applied and met the requirements have been cleared on our portal. We are now waiting for NELFUND to commence payment,” he said.

He further explained that the clearance aimed to ensure that no beneficiary was denied access to lectures or examinations while awaiting the loan.

However, Blessing Selbol, a student of the institution, stated that many students encountered difficulty accessing the NELFUND portal.

“The NELFUND portal kept crashing anytime we want to submit our applications. Sometimes it will show ‘session expired’ after uploading all documents,” she said.
