Alleged rapist Achile Ndumbe flees to Cameroon; UK police launch international manhunt
Ndumbe Achile Ndumbe, a rape suspect, released on bail, has fled the UK to Cameroon after he was released on bail and allowed to keep his passport.
The UK police are now working with Cameroonian authorities to bring him back to the UK over the alleged rape case.
Mr Ndumbe, a landlord, flew from Manchester to Cameroon in January, according to The Times.
Mr Ndumbe now owes taxpayers an estimated £200,000 after fraudulently claiming up to £180,000 in housing benefit.
A court document seen by Peoples Gazette showed that Mr Ndumbe was fined for violating UK property law in 2025.
Mr Ndumbe was fined £26,486.
First arrested on suspicion of rape in 2024, Mr Ndumbe had his phone and electronic devices confiscated, and evidence of sexual offences was allegedly obtained from them.
“Detectives investigating reports of rape have arrested a suspect who remains under investigation and inquiries are actively continuing,” Greater Manchester police said in a statement.
