RMD congratulates Joke Silva on 65 birthday
Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD has celebrated actress, director, producer, Joke Silva, for her pioneering contributions to Nollywood, as she clocks 65 years.
RMD shared the birthday message on his Instagram page — ‘@mofedamijo.’ describing her as his younger sister while recalling their friendship and working relationship that has spanned over 40 years.
He acknowledged Silva’s grief following the death of her husband and fellow veteran actor, Olu Jacobs and celebrated her contributions to the Nigerian creative industry.
“Even as you mourn the love of your life, Uncle Jay, we are reminded of your life of grace, your dedication and your love of not just family, but your craft and your country,” RMD wrote.
He described Silva’s contributions to the entertainment industry and the lives she touched over the years as immeasurable.
RMD noted that it was a privilege to witness and celebrate the woman she had become.
Joke Silva is a veteran actress and cultural leader whose career spans the stage, television and film.
She is also co-founder of Lufodo Productions.
Her husband, Olu Jacobs, died on September 16 at 84.
