The police command in Adamawa State has arrested six suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property involving armoured cable valued at ₦4.5 million at the Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola.
In a statement on Monday, Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s spokesman, said the arrest followed credible information from the school authorities, which led to the arrest of one suspect, Sulaiman Mohammed Alasan of Jambutu.
“During the investigation, the suspect mentioned four other individuals alleged to have participated in the offence, namely Aliyu Mohammed Sani, Nasiru Umar, Bitrus Joseph, and Ndatam Jarmaih, all of various addresses.
“Further investigation also indicted one Faisal Hudu of Ganye Street for receiving stolen property,” he said.
Mr Nguroje said the suspect confessed he purchased the armoured cable, valued at ₦4.5 million, for ₦65,000.
He added that the suspects were in police custody and would be charged in court once the investigation concluded.
