Buhari regime has done better than U.S. in terms of infrastructure: Fashola

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, says the Muhammadu Buhari regime has outperformed the American government in terms of infrastructure.Â
“I can assure you that the present APC administration of President Buhari has achieved what even the US Government is trying to do in terms of infrastructure,” Mr Fashola said. “As at December 2021, we have completed 941 kilometers of roads across all states and geopolitical zones.”
Mr Fashola made this claim on Thursday while speaking during the All Progressives Congress conversation series held in Kano.
“In Kano state here for instance, there are 21 road projects either in, around or in the neighbouring communities. Before APC administration, when last do you remember federal government completing 50 kilometer road in any part of the country?”Â
While blaming past government for looting funds, the minister said “This is the positive change we promised Nigerians in 2015 and it is already happening.
“They say we are the same with them, but we are not. They stole money and took it abroad, but we are taking this money back and investing it in the area of infrastructure.”
Known for his exaggerated comments in favour of the Buhari regime, in October 2020, Mr Fashola said a journey from Sagamu to Benin, a 255.3 kilometre distance, used to last two days before the regime fixed the road.
Mr Fashola had also justified debt accumulation by the regime, saying it is a way for the unborn generation to contribute to the country’s infrastructure building.
