NPFL: Wikki Tourists beat Gombe United

Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Sunday defeated visiting Gombe United FC by a lone goal in the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The match was played behind closed doors at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) in Bauchi.
Manu Garba scored the hosts’ lone goal in the 61st minute of the match.
Ali Zubairu, the coach of Gombe United, said while the match was interesting, it was also highly tense due to the rivalry between the two teams.
“It was a good game for the two teams,” he noted.
On his part, Kabiru Dogo, the Wikki Tourists’ technical adviser, said the team played well to get the three points.
“I commend my players and also appreciate the people of Bauchi and the supporters,” he stated. “Now, we are going to replicate the same performance in our next match on Wednesday. But we thank God for this victory.”
Wikki Tourists will, in their next league game on Wednesday, face defending champions Akwa United in Uyo.
