NYSC urges Sanwo-Olu to complete permanent orientation camp in Lagos

The National Youth Service Corps in Lagos has appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to complete the permanent orientation camp under construction at Agbowa in Ikorodu area of the state.
NYSC state coordinator, Eddy Megwa, made the appeal in an interview on Monday in Lagos.
“We are really pleading with Governor Sanwo-Olu to please do everything within his power to actualise this permanent orientation camp in Agbowa for us to move in there in no distant time,” Mr Megwa said.
He urged Mr Sanwo-Olu to order the contractors to commence work at the site, noting that the permanent orientation campsite was still very strong in the mind of the state government to actualise.
“Mr Governor is also aware that Lagos is the only state in the South-West that does not have a permanent orientation camp.
“The inadequacies of the temporary orientation camp in Iyana-Ipaja is not good enough for the number of Corps members deployed to Lagos, most times we are compelled to dislodge them in Oyo, Ogun and Osun States,” the state coordinator said.
He noted that Lagos, the most cosmopolitan state in the Southern region, was capable of handling teaming numbers deployed for the NYSC programme as the corps members are anxious to take ownership of the situation.
