The U.S. government has pledged to sustain its collaboration with the federal government to continue the war against ISIS terrorists and other perpetrators of violence against Christians.

The U.S. mission in Nigeria stated this in a post on X on Tuesday, announcing that Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Frank Garcia.

“@AsstSecStateAF Garcia met with Nigeria’s National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu. They reviewed progress under the U.S.-Nigeria Joint Working Group,” the U.S. mission said.

“Together we will use every tool available to hold ISIS and perpetrators of violence against Christians accountable,” it added.

In May, U.S. forces, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, conducted airstrikes that killed ISIS second-in-command Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki and other members of the terrorist group in the North-East.

Mr Al-Minuki, 44, was a Nigerian, born in Mainok, Benisheikh, Borno State, Nigeria’s years-long insurgency battleground.

The U.S. authorities designated al-Minuki a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) on June 8, 2023.

The U.S. government has also released a list of three individuals and six entities across Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa that facilitate and coordinate financial transactions for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
