Eid-el-Fitr: NSCDC deploys 614 personnel in Gombe
On Saturday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe said 614 personnel of the corps had been deployed to provide security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The NSCDC commandant in the State, Baba-Goni Waziri, said this in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Buhari Sa’ad.
Mr Waziri said the deployment complied with the directive of the commandant general, Abubakar Audi, to ensure a hitch-free celebration in the state.
He said the deployed officers would provide adequate security and protection of critical national assets in the state to checkmate activities of “bad elements” that might take advantage of the festive season.
He assured that mosques, recreation centres, motor parks, markets, black spots, and flashpoints would be regularly patrolled during the season to ensure the safety of lives and property.
