Actor arrested for kidnapping, defiling Ogun teenager

Operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested an actor for allegedly abducting and defiling a fourteen-year-old girl.
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Omotola Odutola, in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Thursday.
The state’s police spokesperson said that the arrest of the 30-year-old suspect, simply identified as Praise, “came following a report on May 1 at about 1405 hrs from the grandparents of the teenager that their granddaughter had been missing since April 27, 2024.
“The grandparents of the abducted teenager also alleged the suspect of having unlawful carnal knowledge of their granddaughter, who under careful observation was discovered to have been bleeding profusely. Medical forms have been issued for examination and treatment in a government hospital for more credible evidence.’’
She stated that preliminary investigation had commenced at the Mowe Divisional Headquarters, adding that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
Saying that the state police frown at sex crimes and partner with the Commissioner for women affairs for rehabilitation of victims, Mrs Odutola insisted that no child in the state should be subjected to such inhumane treatment, sexual assault and sexual abuse.
