Actor Moses Armstrong arrested over rape of minor

The police in Akwa Ibom have arrested Nigerian actor Moses Armstrong for allegedly raping a 16-year-old minor.
The state’s First Lady, Martha Udom Emmanuel, through her NGO, Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative, is said to be pursuing justice in the matter.
Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, described the matter as “a very serious case”, saying such acts are not condoned amount members of the association.
“To get involved with a child as young as 16years, is not something I and the association I represent, would stand for,” said Mr Rollas. “This is a very sad development involving a member of ours, but I wouldn’t want to comment any further on this case.”
Armstrong, father of two, lost his wife in a fatal accident in 2018.
The movie producer cum politician, had been working as the governor’s Special Assistant before his arrest.
