The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has assigned Hotel Sahrai in Fes as Super Eagles’ camp in Morocco following their arrival in the North African country for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations starting on December 21.

It is the first time in history of the tournament that all the 24 participating nations would have their own dedicated hotels throughout the tournament instead of the previous arrangements, where teams sometimes shared accommodation.

Super Eagles accommodation in Morocco is keenly monitored by football fans in Nigeria after the Rive Hotel, where the team stayed during the Africa 2026 FIFA World Cup Playoffs Tournament in the North Africa country ignited debates on social media last month.

A viral video posted by midfielder Alex Iwobi showed blighted buildings around the hotel, littered with decayed satellite dishes and assorted clothes, a rare sight at high-profile international competitions.

In what the local organising committee is boasting would be the best AFCON tournament ever, the Moroccan authorities said they are providing world-class facilities and hospitalities for each team.

Hotel Sahrai prides itself on being a five-star facility designed by architect and designer Christophe Pillet, offering spectacular views of the largest medina in the Arab world and taking in twelve centuries of the city’s history in one fell swoop

Hailing the arrangements in place for the tournament, CAF said, “The innovation marks a major logistical and professional step forward for African football, aligning the competition with the standards seen at the FIFA World Cup and the European Championships.”
