Alausa appoints Ikharo Attah as special adviser on media, communication

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the appointment of Ikharo Attah as special adviser on media and communication to the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by Lanre Lamina, special adviser on strategy and implementation to the minister.
Mr Lamina said the appointment, conveyed in a letter dated April 28, aligned with the minister’s priorities of strengthening public engagement, enhancing transparency, and improving communication of reforms in the education sector.
He said Mr Attah would provide leadership in shaping and managing the minister’s media and communication agenda.
According to him, his duties include managing media relations, coordinating public communications, supervising digital and social media engagement, and ensuring consistency of messaging across all platforms.
He added that Mr Attah would also advise on high-level communication strategies and support crisis communication efforts aimed at safeguarding the ministry’s reputation.
Mr Attah is a veteran broadcast journalist with over two decades of experience.
He began his career with DBN Television and currently works with Independent Television, where he rose to the position of manager, news and current affairs.
Beyond journalism, he has held public service roles, including chairman of the FCT Task Force on Traffic Decongestion in 2019 and chairman of the FCT Task Force on Enforcement of COVID-19 Protocols in 2020.
He was appointed senior special assistant on monitoring, inspection and enforcement at the FCT Administration in November 2021.
