The NSA noted that the United States ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, was also at the meeting, which held in Abuja.

Stating the gain of the top-level meeting, Mr Ribadu stated that the engagement would further deepen trust and collaboration to counter terrorism and achieve regional stability.

Mr Ribadu said, “This morning, I received a U.S. Congressional delegation on a fact-finding mission to Nigeria, following our earlier engagements in Washington, D.C., on shared security priorities.

“Discussions focused on counter-terrorism cooperation, regional stability, and strengthening Nigeria–U.S. strategic security partnership.

“I’m optimistic this engagement will deepen trust, collaboration, and shared commitment to peace and security.”
