The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (retd), has paid tribute to the late envoy and education minister, Prof. Jubril Aminu.

 Mr Marwa described the late Aminu as an epitome of knowledge, who made significant contributions across several sectors during his lifetime.

 In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Mr Marwa noted that the late Aminu left a lasting mark on medicine, education, foreign policy, politics and the oil industry.

He said that the professor’s demise on Thursday was a monumental loss that saddened many within Nigeria and across the world.

 Mr Marwa said, “At 85, we would have loved for him to live longer, to continue sharing his wisdom and vast experience.’’ He added that Nigeria could still have greatly benefited from the late Aminu’s knowledge across key areas of human development.

According to Mr Marwa, the tributes pouring in over the past 24 hours reflected the late professor’s far-reaching influence across many spheres of life.

He said that the national sense of loss was even more profound because of how widely respected and admired the late Aminu was.

 “Even in mourning, we celebrate the life of an extraordinary man and true symbol of knowledge,” Mr Marwa added.

 He said that the late Aminu remained one of Nigeria’s finest minds in medicine and academia, where he made indelible contributions.

 Mr Marwa also recalled their shared roots in Adamawa State and fondly remembered working alongside him at various stages in service to the nation.
