Anambra speaker Udeze demands end of anti-women practices

Somtochukwu Udeze, speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly, has called for the abrogation of obnoxious practices against women.
Mr Udeze made the call in his message to mark International Women’s Day.
He urged the government at different levels to give women a chance to excel and contribute to national development.
Mr Udeze described women as veritable instruments for national development and societal reformation.
He urged women to uphold those attributes that portray them as virtuous women and shun acts capable of debasing their status.
Mr Udeze extolled the contributions of notable women in Nigeria to the country’s growth and development, describing them as virtuous women.
He commended the governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, for her contributions towards uplifting the living conditions of the Anambra people.
“Her passion for healthy living has continued to benefit Anambra residents immensely, especially women, children and other vulnerable persons in the state,” he said.
