Tragedy struck in the Akinjagunla community of Ondo State after a civil servant, Abiodun Akintomowo, passed on after a sex romp with his mistress.

It was gathered that Mr Akintomowo who hailed from Ondo town in the Ondo West Local Government Area of the State lodged at one of the hotels in the neighbourhood before the incident occurred.

Peoples Gazette learnt that after the sex romp, the deceased slumped and died but his mistress, who is the wife of a landlord in the community, raised the alarm and slipped into a coma. She was quickly revived.

According to sources, the body of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the University of Medical Sciences in Ondo town.

One of the sources, who preferred to remain anonymous, and privy to the development, told The Gazette that the tragic incident happened on Tuesday.

“What I can say is that the man died in the hotel room after having sex with the woman said to be his mistress but laced with thunderbolt popularly called (Magun) in local parlance.

“The woman raised the alarm after realising that the man collapsed, the manager of the hotel and some residents raced to the scene and made frantic efforts to rescue the man, he was later confirmed dead,” he said.

The state police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who confirmed the incident, said the command had already arrested two suspects in connection with the death of Mr Akintomowo.

Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya said one of them is a mistress to the deceased while the other is the owner of the guest house where the incident happened.

“The man (deceased) was not feeling alright after the sexual intercourse with the lady in the hotel, so he was rushed to the hospital and later died. The two suspects are still in our custody,” she revealed.

The incident is coming barely a few weeks after a popular Akure socialite, Sunday Adebayo otherwise known as ‘Saybayo’ died after a sex romp at a brothel inside one of the residential estates in the state capital.

The police had arrested a mistress and the owner of the brothel in connection with the death. Both suspects are currently cooling their heels at the police headquarters in Akure.
