APC presented ‘sellable’ product to win Ekiti election, says Fayemi
On Sunday, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti said the All Progressives Congress (APC) won Saturday’s governorship election because the party has a sellable product in Biodun Oyebanji, the governor-elect.
“We were able to do that because we have a sellable product in Mr Abiodun Oyebanji.
“This is a candidate that is very well known to Ekiti people, someone who started demonstrating a commitment to the Ekiti project in his twenties,” he said.
Mr Fayemi made the assertions when he led other APC governors under the Ekiti governorship campaign council to present a copy of the election results to Mr Oyebanji in his home town, Ikogosi.
Governors Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State and Mohammed Abubakar of Jigawa were on Mr Fayemi’s entourage to Ikogosi.
The governor said there were all manners of pundits and analyses, which put the stakeholders on their toes and pushed them to work harder for the election’s success.
He said some predicted victory for other parties, while some said APC would “carry the day”.
“The results of the governorship election is significant,” Mr Fayemi said.
Earlier, Mr Bagudu lauded the incumbent governor and other party stakeholders in the state for their steadfastness in achieving the desired victory for the party.
He congratulated the governor-elect on his victory, urging him to consolidate on the gains of the present administration in the state.
Responding, the Mr Oyebanji thanked the governors for a visit, promising to consolidate on the achievements of the present administration in the state.
