Twitter owner Elon Musk has disclosed Apple intends to ban the social network from all its devices without reasons, thereby denying users access to the platform.

“Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why,” tweeted Mr Musk on Monday evening.

Mr Musk made the assertion shortly after he revealed Apple, one of its biggest advertisers, has likewise suspended majority of its advertisement on the platform.

“Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?” queried Mr Musk, while demanding answers from Apple CEO, Tim Cook.

In the five months preceding Mr Musk’s Twitter purchase, Apple had been its seventh biggest advertiser, with the company’s ads shown more than a billion times to users across America and other nations.

IPhone, Macbook, and iPad users may be restricted from accessing Twitter should Apple remove the social network from its play store.

Mr Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in October had birthed drastic changes, such as a monthly $8 subscription fee in exchange for the blue verification mark.

He also reinstated former U.S. president Donald Trump’s account which had been suspended in January 2021 for violence-inciting tweets.
