Oyo govt hails Olabiyi-Agoro’s emergence as PENGASSAN president

The Oyo State Government has congratulated Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro’s on his emergence as the president of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
The Acting Governor of the state, Bayo Lawal, in a statement on Sunday, described the appointment as a good development for the association.
Mr Lawal stated that Mr Olabiyi-Agoro’s experience, exposure and patriotism would take PENGASSAN to the next level.
He stated, ” I congratulate Olabiyi-Agoro, who is the current Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Oyo State, and commend him for being a worthy ambassador of the state.”
According to Mr Lawal, Governor Seyi Makinde is also delighted at the emergence of the labour leader as the president of PENGASSAN.
He said the governor described Mr Olabiyi-Agoro as a leading labour unionist in the state, who had worked with the administration to institute better welfare packages for the workforce.
“This is another positive development and a testament to the excellence that our great state has been renowned for over the years.
“While celebrating him, I want to equally restate that the Makinde administration will continue to work harmoniously with labour unions and their leaders in the state.
“This is with a view to achieving the objective of delivering better welfare to workers and good governance to the generality of the people,” he stated.
Mr Olabiyi-Agoro emerged unopposed at PENGASSAN’s first Quadrennial Delegates Conference held in Abuja on Saturday,
He succeeded Governor Seyi Makindewho was president of the association for six years.
The new PENGASSAN president is a petroleum engineer, who currently works with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
