The Nigerian Army on Saturday unveiled a state-of-the-art wargaming centre in Jaji, Kaduna, to enhance training, planning and operational deployment of troops.

The facility is located at the Department of Land Warfare of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

It was designed to support realistic simulations, modern operational planning and advanced decision-making processes for officers preparing for complex security operations.

This was announced in a statement on Saturday.

Army chief Waidi Shaibu described AFCSC as a central pillar in shaping the intellectual and operational competence of military leaders.

Mr Shaibu said the centre would enable commanders to plan, rehearse and execute missions with greater precision in today’s fast-changing security landscape.

He said the investment in advanced training technologies remained a priority for the army as it continues to modernise its operational systems and strengthen troop deployment nationwide.

The army chief urged the college’s students to make the most of the facility, stressing that Nigeria’s security environment demands adaptive, technology-driven and forward-thinking leadership.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support of the armed forces, stating that the army’s Transformation Agenda had been bolstered by the president’s commitment to national security.

He also commended the commandant and the college community for their dedication to excellence.

The commandant of AFCSC, Hassan Alhaji, said the centre would significantly enhance the college’s capacity to produce officers equipped to meet evolving threats.

Mr Alhaji said the facility, conceptualised under the leadership of the army chief, would deepen strategic thinking, refine operational concepts and improve combat readiness across all theatres.

According to him, the college will continue to support the Department of Land Warfare in delivering world-class professional military education to Nigerian and foreign officers.
