Atiku announces readiness to lead coalition against Tinubu, APC

The opposition presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, has said that he will lead an alliance of opposition parties to remove the ruling APC government in the 2027 elections.
He expressed his intentions in a congratulatory message to the PDP governors whose elections received validity from the Supreme Court on Friday.
Mr Atiku labelled the decision of the court as good news for the people of Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, and Zamfara states, in an official statement by his media team, adding that it was a win for constitutional democracy.
While congratulating the Governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), he noted that he was more prepared than ever to lead the charge alongside the leaders and governors for the good of the country as patriots and citizens will always applaud the rightful dispensation of justice.
Following the verdict of the court, he stated that the PDP has indeed facilitated a guaranteed continuation of the standards of good governance and asked that the PDP governors – Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Caleb Muftwang of Plateau, and Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, view their win as an opening to strengthen and expand the scope of good governance which they have already initiated.
With the electoral phase now over, he expressed that he was confident about the PDP’s readiness to concentrate on its role as the primary opposition party.
