Avoid gossips, rumourmongering, NYSC warns staff members

The newly deployed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) coordinator in Katsina State, Sa’idu Ibrahim, has advised staff members to avoid gossip.
Mr Ibrahim gave advice in Katsina while meeting with the heads of branches and units in the secretariat on Tuesday.
He urged the officials to be punctual, committed to their duties and always ready to discharge their assigned responsibilities.
“I have been opportune to work with many of you before in Katsina. My priority always lies in my ability to deliver accordingly when assigned duties.
“I have zero tolerance for unfounded rumourmongering and gossiping.
“If you come and tell me about someone else, I will tell you to wait and invite the other person and ask you to repeat what you said about him,” he said.
He, however, requested objective criticism and advice that would add value to the system while emphasising the need for continuous learning and adaptability.
“No one is Mr Know-it-all. We reassess and readjust to ensure no stone is left unturned in our quest for excellence,” Mr Ibrahim said.
He reminded them that their resolve to work with synergy would go a long way in assisting the development process of the scheme.
According to him, everyone should be ready to work in any assigned duty, irrespective of the area of schedule.
He urged them to be open-minded and to support him to achieve the required success.
The coordinator and staff members went around to inspect the camp facilities after the meeting.
