The Chief Magistrates’ Court in Badagry, Lagos, on Wednesday, ordered that a 20-year-old man, Peter Ezekiel, who allegedly abducted and defiled a 14-year-old girl, be remanded in prison custody.
The police charged Mr Ezekiel with two counts of abduction and defilement.
Chief magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya, who did not take Ezekiel’s plea, ordered him remanded in prison custody pending the grant of bail in a high court.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel told the court that Mr Ezekiel committed sometime in December 2023 at the Bakery Area of Ashipa, Seme border, Badagry, Lagos.
The offence, he said, contravened sections 411, 269, 261 and 263 of the 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2015.
