Bandits return to Kagara, kill 4, abduct 11 women, children

The assailants abducted 11 persons including seven women and nursing mothers in separate attacks carried in different communities.

At least four persons were reportedly killed while many residents were abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits in another attack in Kagara, Niger State.

This attack came barely 10 days bandits abducted students and staffers of Government Secondary School (GSS) in Kagara. The attack occurred shortly after government announced the release of the abducted victims of GSS Saturday morning.

Peoples Gazette had exclusively reported how N800 million was ferried into the forest via Sheikh Gumi to secure the release of students and staff of GSS.

The assailants abducted 11 persons including seven women and nursing mothers in separate attacks carried in different communities, Daily Trust reported.

The outlet noted that the armed thieves rustled dozens of cows and abducted an Islamic cleric in Madaka district. 

The state police command has not commented on the incident though the Gazzette reached the police spokesman for comments.

The onslaught activities of banditry and kidnapping is gaining momentum across the entire northern region.

However, the brigands have continued to carry out deadly attacks in communities across Niger leading to the deaths of many civilians.
