Bandits shot pastor, kidnapped 5 women going to church in Katsina: Police
Police in Katsina confirmed that five women preparing to go to church for Sunday service were abducted while a man identified as Pastor Haruna was also shot by bandits.
The attack happened in Dantsauri Village, Kankara Local Government Area of the northwestern state.
Police spokesman Gambo Isah said the “terrorists” invaded the community “in their numbers, shooting sporadically.”
“The DPO of Kankara led a team of policemen to the village but, before his arrival, the terrorists had escaped with the victims,” Mr Isah said. “The injured pastor was evacuated to the General Hospital, Kankara, for treatment.”
The spokesman said that the command is doing its best to apprehend the kidnappers.
