Bashir Ahmad who feeds fat on bogus salaries mocks Peter Obi’s donation to flood victims

It is unclear what Mr Bashir’s expectations were, as Mr Obi does not currently have any constitutional obligation to fill the void created by the inefficiency of Mr Buhari’s regime.

• October 23, 2022

President Muhammadu Buhari’s special assistant on digital communication, Bashir Ahmad, has mocked the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for donating relief items to victims of severe flooding that has ravaged states across the country and displaced more than two million people.

Mr Obi had donated some food relief to flood victims in his home state, Anambra, during a sympathetic visit to victims of the crisis.

Despite the largely inadequate presence of federal response agencies at severe sites of the flood, and extremely minute governmental support in reliefs, Mr Bashir belittled Mr Obi’s support for the victims stating that his items are unworthy of a former governor.

“Wow. Four bags of rice, 14 cartons of indomie noodles, around 50 sets of blankets, 24 loaves of bread, and a generator, among other unverified stuff donated to thousands of families affected by floods in Anambra by a former governor of the state and a current presidential candidate,” Mr Bashir wrote on his Twitter page.

It is unclear what Mr Bashir’s expectations were, as Mr Obi does not currently have any constitutional obligation to fill the void created by the inefficiency of Mr Buhari’s regime.

Despite pointing mocking fingers, the Kano-born communications aide wears multiple badges of corruption with impunity. In 2021, Peoples Gazette in a report exposed his involvement in a high-level federal job racket.

Earlier in August 2022, he was also exposed to have continued to illegally draw salaries in the tune of millions, for three months, after resigning his appointment to seek political office, an endeavour where he was soundly defeated.
