Bauchi spends N372 million on power supply
The Bauchi government says it spent N372 million on the reactivation of dilapidated power lines to restore regular power supply to the state.
The Commissioner for Power, Umaru Sade, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Bauchi on Wednesday.
He said the project, which was carried out in collaboration with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, covered the state’s 20 local government areas.
Mr Sade added that the government initially allocated N400 million for the reactivation project because it was committed and determined to restore electricity to the state.
He emphasised that a regular power supply would boost the state’s economy and empower the people by establishing small and medium-scale industries for accelerated development.
The commissioner added that the government had upgraded three units of 33KVA to 132 KVA to ensure a stable power supply, saying the projects were executed between November 2020 and 2021.
