Benue governor signs bill to establish Labe College of Nursing Sciences

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has signed into law the bill establishing Labe College of Nursing Sciences, Gboko in the Gboko Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Alia, at the signing on Wednesday in Makurdi, said the establishment of the school further underscored his commitment to accessible, quality education and healthcare.
He said it was also a strategic investment in the future well-being and prosperity of the state and not only an academic endeavour.
He noted that the college would serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity to thousand households as well as bring specialised medical training closer to local communities.
The governor said that the school would equally address the pressing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in the state.
He stated, “This college will significantly enhance the local healthcare workforce, providing a steady stream of highly trained nurses and midwives. It will directly improve patient care, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, and strengthen community health services, particularly in rural areas.
Mr Alia urged stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, community leaders, and the Catholic Diocese of Gboko, to embrace this opportunity wholeheartedly.
He said the school promises to reshape the healthcare landscape and secure a brighter and healthier future for Benue State.
