Updated: Diego Maradona is dead

The famed Argentine footballer and coach passed on Wednesday evening at 60.

Argentina famed football and coach Diego Maradona has died.

He passed on on Wednesday night after suffering a heart attack, according to Argentine daily Clarin.

He was 60.

In a tweet, President of Argentine Football Association, Claudio Tapia, expressed sadness on the demise of its football icon on Wednesday. 
Early in November, Maradona had a brain surgery which his Doctor said was successful. 

Maradona scored 34 goals for Argentina in 91 appearance, leading the Argentina to World Cup success in 1986. 

He won two Serie A titles with Napoli, 1986/87 and 1989/90 seasons. He also played for Barcelona, Sevilla and Borca Juniors in his active days. 

Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest footballers in the world.

However, at 1994 World Cup hosted by United States, he failed drugs test, which earn him a 15-month ban from football.

As a coach, he led Argentina to 2010 World Cup, making it to the quarter finals.
