El-Rufai names Ahmed Bamalli new Emir of Zazzau

Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Wednesday named Ahmed Bamalli as the new Emir of Zazzau, Peoples Gazette learnt from palace officials and document later released by the state government.
Mr. Bamalli, a career diplomat and ambassador, replaced Shehu Idris, Zaria’s long-time emir who passed on on September 20 at 84.
Mr. Bamali, described his ascension to the throne as a restoration for his lineage after 100 years.
Mr. Bamali said his appointment as the emir of the Zazzau emirate means the throne is returning back home after 100 years.
“Alhamdullah, after 100years. The throne is back home. Allah Gives Power And Leadership To Whom He Wills”, Bamali said on Twitter after his appointment was announced. “Now my watch begins, I shall serve you diligently and selflessly.”
Mr. Bamalli, a career diplomat and ambassador to Thailand and Myanmar, once served as former -Ag MD Nigerian Security Printing and Minting PLC. He is the 19th emir of Zazzau.
Presentation of staff of office and installation ceremony would be soon announced according to Kaduna State government.
