Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Maiduguri town Tuesday killing an unspecified number of civilians in Borno.

The insurgents launched multiple missiles and engaged the military stationed at the outskirts of the state capital, Eons Intelligence reported.

Missiles landed in Gwange, Bulabulin, Adam Kolo, and Molai areas of the town leading to the deaths of many residents, the report stated.

The online security blog cited a source saying that a faction of the jihadist fighters engaged security operatives behind the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in a gun duel.

In another separate attack, the report disclosed that the jihadist fighters attacked civilians in Internally Displaced Camp in Dalori at the outskirt of the town.

The police spokesperson in Borno did not return multiple calls and messages when contacted for comments by Peoples Gazette Tuesday evening.

Army spokesman Mohammed Yerima did not respond too.

Boko Haram terrorists have continued to carry out deadly attacks on civilians and military formations across the North-East region leading to the deaths of thousands of people.

This attack came hours after troops of “Operation Lafiya Dole” recaptured Marte town from the jihadist fighters.

Abuja is yet to curtail the menace of Boko Haram insurgency for over a decade now after spending billions of nairas.
