Two killed, 26 wounded as thugs overwhelm #EndSARS in Abuja

Hoodlums suspected to be pro-government supporters have attacked and killed two #EndSARS protesters in Apo, Abuja, witnesses told Peoples Gazette Tuesday morning.
The attack came a day after thugs attacked protesters in the same Apo neighbourhood, killing three marchers before setting their vehicles ablaze.
A witness told Peoples Gazette that the thugs besieged the popular mechanic and motor spare parts market armed with knives and sticks to unleash mayhem against protesters.
The attack led to the death of a trader residing along the mechanic village and another hotel worker, witnesses said. They injured many and vandalised vehicles belonging to the #EndSARS protesters.
Authorities are trying to identify the victims as of Tuesday afternoon.
At least 26 people who were reportedly injured were moved to the hospital for care, law enforcement and medical sources told the Gazette.
The police in Abuja told the Gazette they had learnt of the violence.
” Yes, we are aware of the development and personnel have been deployed to the area. Its clash between #EndSARS and pro SARS protesters. We are investigating and calm is restored,” the police said.
Thugs have continued to unleash violence against protesters across the country. On Monday, police stations and custodial centres in Benin were attacked, prompting Governor Godwin Obaseki to declare a curfew.
Lagos also declared a curfew on Tuesday morning after Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu learnt of an attack against a police station in Orile-Iganmu.Â
